Zimmy

Untitled Nude, 2011

I had a visitor recently: the model Kelsey Dylan from Ohio.  Kelsey had been my guest last summer for  about a week, after which time she rode home with me when I drove to Ohio to  visit my friend Dave Levingston.  I had not seen her since that visit last year, so it was nice to see her and have her  around again.
Last  year I waited until we got to Ohio to photograph Kelsey, but this time it was  different: we had our photo session right here in the great state of New York,  at a beautiful location north of New York City.   This session was also a first for me.   I had gone out on my own many times to photograph models in places like  Nevada, New Mexico and California while I was travelling, but this was the  first time that I had done so right here from home.  Based upon this outing with Kelsey, I think I  need to do this more often, as you can see from the snapshot I made with my  pocket digital camera.
Of  course, every model is not just “a model” in his or her life.  So it is with Kelsey, who recently completed  her bachelor’s degree in herbal science.   That makes her a plant person, and being out and about in the woods, Kelsey had a whale of a time, identifying and photographing rare plants such as  partridgeberry and flowers such as butter and eggs, which she had never seen before.  (Yes, folks, there is a flower called “butter  and eggs.”  She showed me the entry in  her field guide when she looked it up to confirm the sighting.)
Oh,  yeah.  We saw a snake, too.

Can autumn be far off?
