Keeping Cool

Nude, Nevada, 2011

As most of you may know, we had a heat wave here in New York recently. On Friday, the temperature reached 102 degrees (if not 103). In the interests of staying cool –and of sanity – I therefore stayed in both Saturday and Sunday, catching up on some videos while also working on some photos.
That photo work was the completion of filing my negatives from my March trip to Vietnam. In addition, I also took the time to file the negatives from the first photo session of my trip to Nevada last month with model Melissa.
June in the Las Vegas area can get pretty hot during the day, too. Likewise, in an effort to beat the heat, as well as to get good light, Melissa and I set out early to our location in the desert. We were fortunate to get there just as the sun was rising, and we had a good view of the event.
Here you can see a photo of Melissa rising to the occasion, her arms up to welcome the new day. The heat would make its presence known later, but right then and there, things looked pretty cool.
